Improving the standard / cleanliness of steam wands, ensuring the customer is not put at risk from harmful bacteria, and ensuring you will not lose a customer.
The coffee companies above have voluntarily joined up to this campaign as they are passionate about raising the standard in the coffee industry.
Who left me a card?
There are a growing number of cards in circulation and names/addresses of those who request cards are not captured
Rest assured that it is likely to be someone who wants to be your customer and has your best interests at heart.
Am I on a database?
No, we do not know who has been left a card.
What happens next?
Once you have cleaned your steam wand (and kept it clean) you are unlikely to receive any further reminders.
You may have even gained a new regular client.
But we clean our steam wands!
This is an entirely customer-led campaign and your client has left a reminder. If your steam wand is clean then you have nothing to worry about. It is better to receive a card / reminder than for a customer to take their business elsewhere and not give you the opportunity to improve.
Replace worn steam wands
Exposed copper (the base metal used to make most steam wands) is a health risk
Replace steam wands as soon as the steel coating exposes the copper pipe below
Abrasive scourer pads speed up this process, so try to avoid using these to removed caked on milk by wiping the steam wand with a damp cloth immediately after each use
