Good coffee (and fresh food) can be right under your nose
If you live in Barnes (SW London) and you have not yet visited the market on Station Road on a Saturday morning then I suggest you make your way there the next time you are free (rain hail or shine)
Good coffee is right under your nose, in the form of a coffee concession turning out one great coffee after another.
I visited today and was left wanting… another coffee that is! (although I had to stop at the flat white and macchiato as there were more places to visit afterwards)
There was an unrivalled selection of fresh food, from an organic farm selling freshly made and rolled butter, milk and meat products, to a fishmonger selling fresh fish like you buy at the docks, organic vegetables that were so fresh they still had some soil on them, wholesome breads and cakes, delicious cupcakes, italian wines and oils and smiles all ’round.
The stallholders oozed passion for their products, a rare quality these days.
I’m planning a return visit in the near future and will be bringing a few friends along with me.
Map and directions to Barnes Market can be found here
I’ve been to a number of Farmers Markets and many of them lack a decent coffee vendor (most have none at all). Check out your local market and if you find a notable coffee then get in touch
If I lived in Barnes and wasn’t in the coffee industry I’d be looking forward to Saturday
